To beat Gundabad Awoken (medium difficulty).
First location goals:
- Warrior Sword -> Faramir
- Dwarven Axe -> Gimli
- Star Brooch/UC -> Faramir
- Imladris Minstrel
- Erebor Hammersmith
Second location goals:
Stall as long as possible to build up attachments with Erebor Hammersmith's ability and Faramir's draw. You want block on every character. Goal is to stay in stealth, but you can break it toward the end if need be.
Third location:
Stall until you have the board state you want going into the final location.
- Imladris Minstrel w/ block
- Fornost Avenger w/ Raiment
- Frodo w/ Star Brooch + block
- Gimli w/ block and some hitpoint, don't worry about attachments as you want all the special items at the forge to go on him
- Faramir w/ Sword + Raiment + Star Brooch/UC
- Hammersmith if you've still got him
- Full fate meter (or close)
Final location:
Trigger the highest Fate event as soon as possible to prevent Narvang screwing with your heroes. Then either boost the forge to prevent the Horde or grab the goodies, whichever order seems best. Then focus on the final objective -- don't get distracted by the enemies too much, they'll eventually overwhelm you. Concentrate on winning the race.
Grateful Escapee may be superior to Frodo's Intuition for setting up for Location 4. I believe the willpower boost is permanent for the Escapee, meaning you can play it at Location 3, which would be useful.
