KingsKnightTwitch has updated this deck: Gold Rush

A deck whose strategy centers around controlling the board & threat meter and then setting up a board that can resolve later location's objectives in a single turn.

Generally with this deck you want to resolve the first location as soon as possible and let Glorfindel and Galadriel stall the threat meter while Elrond heals you for any lost damage. An early game Hobbit Pipe can be extremely helpful but isn't always needed.

You want to draw through the deck as quickly as possible, grabbing Vilya and Nenya in particular while getting the two Sailors of Lune on the board. Gandalf and the Hobbit Champions are there for backup if something should happen. You actually want the Star Brooches to go on the Sailors as you will often use them for resolving objectives. Do your best to avoid Vilya getting destroyed as it can make later locations dramatically easier.

Once ready, travel and use Vilya to let you spam powerful cards like Against the Shadow, Ride them Down, Seen and Unseen, Hold Your Ground, Fair and Perilous, etc... to power up your Stalwart sailors and get through the location quickly.

A rundown of the cards and why they are included is as follows:

  • Sailor of Lune: A key piece to the rush strategy
  • Hobbit Champion: A well-rounded backup ally
  • Gandalf & Narya: The Gandalf package. You'll see this in a lot of decks because Gandalf is a great Swiss-army knife for a wide variety of problems. This deck uses him to reduce threat by 3 or draw 3 cards depending on the situation.
  • Unexpected Courage, Star Brooch, & Timely Rescue: The Stalwart package. You will mainly give the Star Brooches to the Sailors of Lune and maybe give the Unexpected Courages to Glorfindel and a Hobbit Champion.
  • Nenya & Vilya: Special attachments for Galadriel and Elrond. Their purpose is to get through later locations extremely quickly (only 1 round).
  • Hobbit Pipe: An extremely helpful card that helps you draw through the deck extremely quickly.
  • Against the Shadow & Hold Your Ground: Powerful start-of-turn cards that protect your board in later locations. Casting Hold Your Ground in the first location can also make sense.
  • Ride Them Down!: A very aggressive card for locations with both large objectives and strong enemies.
  • Fair and Perilous: A tech card for dealing with large villains (especially in early locations).
  • Back to the Dark. Pity Stayed His Hand, & Seen and Unseen: Board control cards for use early on in the first location for dealing with large minions.

How strong is this deck you may ask? It can do Gundabad solo on Expert difficulty!

(Watch it do that here: www.youtube.com)
